Heard Mr. Asish Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D. Nayak, learned Additional Government Advocate. 2.

According to Mr. Mishra, the petitioner is aggrieved by the failure of Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Bhubaneswar (opposite party No.3) in taking a decision on his representation dated 10th May, 2022 under Annexure-1 by which, he has made a request for registration of F.I.R. His further submission is that though the representation under Annexure-1 reveals commission of cognizable offences but, when opposite party No.3 did not do anything, he sent a copy of the representation under Annexure-1 to the said opposite party through speed post on 12.05.2022. But till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.3 to take a decision on such motion within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court

// 2 // directs the Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Bhubaneswar (opposite party No.3) to take a decision on the representation dated 10.05.2022 of the petitioner under Annexure-2 in accordance with law keeping in mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari Vs. State of U.P. & Others reported in AIR 2014 SC 187 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. The petitioner is directed to supply copy of the representation dated 10.05.2022 under Annexure-1 to opposite party No.3 while presenting a certified copy of this order. 4.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
