This matter is taken up through Hybrid mode.

Petitioner in this RPFAM seeks to assail judgment and order dated 16th May, 2022 (Annexure-3) passed by learned Judge, Family Court, Jajpur in Cr.P. No.161 of 2017, whereby a direction has been made to the Petitioner to pay maintenance @ Rs.2,500/- per month to Opposite Party No.1 and Rs.1,000/- per month to Opposite Party No.2 from the date of application, i.e., 12th September, 2017. The Petitioner has also been directed to pay the arrear maintenance within a period of three months from the date of said judgment and order.

Mr. Pujari, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner does not challenge the maintenance vis-à-vis the quantum. He only prays for extension of time to pay the arrear maintenance. It is submitted that the arrear maintenance outstanding amounts to Rs.1,26,500/- and it is very difficult on the part of the Petitioner to arrange and pay the same within three months. He, however, on instruction submits that the Petitioner can pay the same within a period of six months.

This Court feels the submission of Mr. Pujari, learned counsel for the Petitioner to be reasonable.

In that view of the matter, this Court disposes of the RPFAM with a direction that arrear maintenance amount as stated above shall be paid to Opposite Parties within a period of six months from today.

Issue urgent certified copy of the order on proper application.
