Heard Mr. S.G. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. A.K. Nanda, learned Additional Government Advocate. 2.

Since Odisha Government Land Settlement Rules, 1983 prescribes a form for putting an application for settlement of Government land in favour of a person and since there is nothing to show that the petitioner has applied in such form, we are not inclined to entertain this writ petition. Accordingly, the same is dismissed. However, it is made clear that dismissal of the writ petition will not be a bar for the petitioner to file an appropriate application under law for settlement of a piece of land in his favour, if not already applied. 3.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
