This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual /Physical Mode).

Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

This is an application under Section 439 of the Criminal Procedure Code filed by the Petitioner to release him on regular bail in connection with G.R.case No.1591 of 2020 pending in the Court of the learned S.D.J.M.(S), Cuttack, corresponding to Lalbag P.S. Case No.321 of 2020 for commission of the alleged offences under Sections 420, 406, 409, 467, 468, 471, 379, 120(B)/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner does not want to press this application at this juncture and wants to withdraw the same and further seeks a direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial within a stipulated period.

Considering the aforesaid submissions, this Court directs the trial Court to make endevour to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. In the event trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period, it is open for the Petitioner to renew his prayer for bail. In the event such bail application is moved by the Petitioner, the same shall be considered in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observation, the BLAPL is disposed of. 7.
