Heard learned counsel for Petitioner and learned counsel for the State-Opposite Parties.

The present Writ Petition has been filed with the following prayer:- "(i) A writ of mandamus or an appropriate writ may be issued quashing the impugned order of transfer dated 21.07.2022 issued by the Fire Officer, Central Range, Cuttack under Annexure2 and necessary direction may be made to the opposite parties to allow the petitioner to continue at Baranga Fire Station in terms of Fire Service Circular Order No.12 of 2020 as he has not completed six years of service in one place and there is no allegation against him from any quarter whatsoever, within a time to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court".

He further submits that through highlighting his grievances, the petitioner has filed a representation on 29.07.2022 at Annexure-6 to the Writ Petition, before the opposite party No.2 but till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a
// 2 // direction be issued to opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the above noted petition within a specific time period. 5.
Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the above noted petition in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. Petitioner is directed to serve copy of the order within a period of three days from the date of receipt of this order. Till a decision is taken by the Opposite Party No.2, status quo as on today with regard to continuance of the Petitioner be maintained.
6. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
