Mr. Nayak, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner and submits, his client is father of the student, assaulted by his teacher. Criminal case is pending against the teacher, wherein charge-sheet has been filed. His client made representation dated 1st February, 2022 to the Secretary, School and Mass Education Department for compensation. The representation ought to have been made before the Collector. Hence, he prays for direction upon said opposite party to receive his client's fresh representation and consider the same. Mr. Singh, learned advocate, Standing Counsel appears on behalf of the department. On query from Court he submits, the Collector is the proper authority.

Petitioner will approach opposite party no.2 with his representation claiming compensation regarding the incident. Said opposite party is directed to consider the representation and within three weeks of approach, inform petitioner the result.
