Mr. Das, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner and submits, his client is a minor, represented by his father. He was born in 'KEUTO' caste, which was a scheduled caste. However, as per Government Order no.22671 dated 31st December, 2019, 'KEUTO' caste was deleted from scheduled caste category. Hence, his client's application for caste certificate stood rejected. He submits further, since at birth his client belonged to 'KEUTO' caste as included scheduled caste category, subsequent deletion order cannot be

// 2 // applicable to him. On query from Court, he submits, the application was made on 3rd September, 2020.

Ms. Pattanayak, learned advocate, Additional Government Advocate appears on behalf of State and submits, petitioner has efficacious alternative statutory remedy of appeal. 3.

It appears the application for caste certificate was made after the deletion order. Petitioner may challenge the deletion order, if so advised.
