This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

Petitioner in this writ petition prays for early disposal of confiscation proceeding in UD Case No.09CH of 2020-21 pending before Authorized Officer-cum-Assistant Conservator of Forests, Angul Division, Angul.

Taking into consideration the submission made by learned counsel for the Petitioner, this Court vide order dated 20th September, 2022, directed learned Standing Counsel to take instruction in the matter. Mr. Mishra, learned ASC on instruction submits that the UD Case is pending awaiting prosecution report from Range Officer, Angul. He, however, submits that steps are being taken for early disposal of the confiscation proceeding.

Taking into consideration the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, this Court, disposes of the writ petition with a direction that Authorized Officer-cum-Assistant Conservator of Forests, Angul Division, Angul shall do well to

// 2 // consider and dispose of the confiscation proceeding in UD Case No. 09CH of 2020-21 pending before him, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of production of certified copy of this order giving opportunity of hearing of the Petitioner. The Petitioner is also directed to cooperate with the Authorized Officer for early disposal of the confiscation proceeding.

As requested by Mr. Mishra, learned ASC a copy of this order be made available to him for communication and compliance.

Issue urgent certified copy of the order on proper application.
