This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

The Petitioner in this writ petition prays for a direction to the Opposite Parties to pay compensation of Rs.20,00,000/- along with interest at the rate of 9% per annum to the Petitioner, who has suffered amputation of both his hand due to an electrical accident.

In view of the provisions of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (Compensation to Victims of Electrical Accident) Regulation, 2020, I am not inclined to interfere with the writ petition at this stage.

However, the Petitioner, if so advised, may make an application under the provisions of the said Regulation to get adequate compensation for the loss suffered by him due to electrocution.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
