Mr. Das, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioners and submits, there was reference to conciliation on 9th March, 2022 made by Assistant Labour Officer. However, thereafter the conciliation did not happen. Hence, his clients are before Court. Mr. Patnaik, learned advocate, Additional Standing Counsel appears on behalf of opposite party nos.1 to 3.

It appears, pursuant to reference to conciliation, the conciliation officer issued memo dated 4th April, 2022 requesting opposite party no.4 to attend the conciliation proceeding. On query from Court Mr. Das submits, said opposite party did not attend the conciliation proceeding.

Mr. Das submits, there be direction upon the conciliation officer in terms of sub-section (6) in section 12, Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

We are satisfied that commencement of conciliation proceeding happened on 9th March, 2022. Opposite party no.3 is directed to file report of the proceeding within two weeks of communication.

The writ petition is disposed of.
