Iswar @ Indra @ Indramani Meher v. State Of Odisha
IN THE HIGH COURT OF ORISSA AT CUTTACK
BLAPL No.9036 of 2022 Iswar @ Indra @ Indramani Meher ....
Petitioner Mr. S. Dwibedi Advocate -versusState of Odisha ....
Opposite Party Mr. S.K.Mishra, Addl. Standing Counsel
CORAM:
JUSTICE SASHIKANTA MISHRA
ORDER
29.11.2022.
Order No.
01.
1. This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.
2. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State.
3. The earlier bail application filed by the Petitioner for bail was withdrawn with liberty to renew his prayer after examination of some material witnesses in the case. In the mean time, the informant and his brother have been examined.
4. From the evidence of the informant, it is evident that there were instances of torture of the deceased by the accused in connection with demand for dowry. Even on the date of
// 2 // occurrence, there was an instance of abuse relating to dowry. All these reveals a strong prima facie case against the Petitioner and also does not bring about the change in the circumstance to persuade this Court to take a different view than what was taken earlier.
4. The bail application is, therefore, rejected. (Sashikanta Mishra) AKB Judge
