Heard Mr.Tarai, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Pradhan, learned Addl. Government Advocate. 2.

According to Mr. Tarai, the petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the authority in settling a piece of land in his favour though he is a land less person and as such he is entitled to benefit under the Orissa Government Land Settlement Act, 1962. 3.

During course of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that liberty may be granted to the petitioner to file a proper application before the Director of Estate, General Administration and Public Grievance Department (opposite party no.2) for the said purpose and further prays that a direction be issued to the said opposite party to take a decision on his application within a stipulated time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing

any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court grants liberty to the petitioner to file a proper application before the opposite party No.2 within a period of two weeks along with a copy of this order by Registered Post. In the event, such a representation is received by the above noted officer, he/she is directed to take a decision on such representation in accordance with law, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 5.

With the above observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
