This matter is taken up through Hybrid arrangement (video conferencing/physical mode).

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner Bharati Nayak with a prayer to direct the opposite party no.2 Director, Special Projects, Panchayati Raj Department, Odisha to dispose of the appeal under Annexure-1 within a stipulated period.

// 2 // Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Director, Special Projects, Panchayati Raj Department, Odisha on 13.05.2021 against the Order No.1749 dated 19.04.2021 of the Collector -cum- C.E.O., Zillaparishad, Puri for disengaging her from the post of GRS, Ramlenka GP of Krushnaprasad Block w.e.f. 03.02.2021 and even though almost a year and half has been passed in the meantime since the filing of the appeal but the same has not been disposed of and direction may be issued to the Appellate Authority to expedite the hearing of the appeal and dispose of the same within a time limit.

Learned counsel for the State has no objection to the prayer made in this writ petition.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the respective parties and in view of the limited nature of prayer, I direct the opposite party no.2 Director, Special Projects, Panchayati Raj Department, Odisha to expedite the hearing of appeal filed by the petitioner on 13.05.2021 under Annexure-1 and in that respect, the hearing date shall be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks from today in writing and every endeavour shall be made to conclude the hearing of the appeal within a period of two months thereafter after giving opportunities of hearing to the respective parties and communicate the order to the parties concerned.

// 3 // Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. A free copy of this order be handed over to the learned counsel for the State which will be communicated to the opposite party no.2 Director, Special Project Panchayati Raj Department, Odisha for compliance.

Issue urgent certified copy as per Rules.
