Heard Mr. A. Pattanaik, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. H.M. Dhal, learned Additional Govt. Advocate. 2.

According to Mr. Pattanaik, the petitioner is a street vendor and doing his business on Plot No.1235, Khandagiri Bari in Jayadev Batika under Khandagiri Police Station. However till date he has not been granted with a certificate of street vending, though he has applied for the same under Form-II of Odisha Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulating of Street Vending) Rules, before the Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal, Corporation (opposite party no.2). In this contest he draws our attention to the said application filed by him under Annexure-1. In such the ground, he prays that a direction be issued to opp. party no.2 to take a decision on such application within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the competent authority (opposite party no.2) to take a decision on the above mentioned application for grant of certificate of vending under Anneuxre-1 in accordance with law, within a period of four

weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 4.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 5.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
