Heard Mr. N.Maharana, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. S.S. Pradhan, learned Addl. Govt. Advocate. 2.

According to Mr. Maharana, the petitioners are aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities in paying them compensation in connection with the accusation of land of their grandfather - Tihiku Oram for the purpose of mining of coal. They are also aggrieved by the inaction of the authorities in extending the employment benefits. He further submits that all these lands fall in Mouza- Kusraloi under Lakhanpur Tahasil in the district of Jharsuguda. Though the petitioners have submitted their representations on 04.07.2022 under Annexure-5 series and through speed post on 06.07.2022 to the Collector, Jharsuguda (opposite party no.2), however till date, nothing has been done with regard to the above noted representations.

In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to opp. party no.2 to take a decision of the above noted representations within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Collector, Jharsuguda (opposite party no.2) to take a decision on the above noted representations, in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioners. 5.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
