Heard Mr.B.Samantaray, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.K.Mohanty, learned Addl. Standing Counsel.

According to Mr.Samantaray the petitioner is aggrieved by inaction of the authorities in sanctioning the awarded amount of Rs.57,69,338/- in favour of the petitioner although his case has been recommended by the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Lower Indra Irrigation Project, Khariar (opposite party No.3) to the Director (R&R) & Ex-Officio Addl. Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources, Odisha, Bhubaneswar (opposite party No.2) vide letter No. 140 W/E dated 8.3.2020 under Annexure-3. In such background he prays that a direction be issued to opposite party No.2 to take a decision on Annexure-3 within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without

// 2 // expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the opposite party No.2 to take a decision on the letter dated 8.3.2020 of opposite party No.3 under Annexure-3 as indicated above in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. If it is found that the petitioner is entitled to the compensation as claimed the opposite party No.2 shall take step to disburse the same within two months thereafter, if there is no other impediment. 5.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of the order be granted on proper application.
