Heard Mr. A.R. Sethy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel. 2.

According to Mr. Sethy, the petitioner is aggrieved by the tardy manner in which investigation is going on in connection with Cuttack Sadar P.S. Case No.696 dated 28.12.2020 registered for commission of offences under Sections 420/409/465/467/468/471/34 of I.P.C. He further submits that though highlighting all its grievances, the petitioner has approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack (opposite party No.2) on 29.08.2022 by filing a grievance petition vide Annexure-2 through speed post, however, till date nothing has been done in the matter. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack to take a decision on the grievance petition of the petitioner within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court

// 2 // directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack to take a decision on the grievance petition dated 29.08.2022 of the petitioner under Annexure-2 in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not been disposed of and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 4.

Accordingly, this CRLMP is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
