This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

The petitioner, in this CRLMP, challenges the inaction of the I.I.C., Chauliaganj Police Station, Cuttack (Opposite Party No.3) in registering her written report as F.I.R. though the same reveals commission of cognizable offences. When the said report was not accepted by the said Officer, the petitioner has approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack (opposite party no.2) by
// 2 // sending a grievance petition dated 19.09.2022 under Annexure-2 through Speed Post on the same date. However, till date no action has been taken on the same. In such background, he prays that necessary direction be given to the opposite party no.2 to take a decision on the said grievance petition within a specific time period. 4.
In such view of the matter, this Court directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack (opposite party no.3) to take a decision on the aforesaid grievance petition and direct the concerned I.I.C. to register the written report of the petitioner as F.I.R. in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of production of copy of this order.

The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy of this order on proper application.
