Order No.
1.
This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement. 2.
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate for the State. 3.
According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the grievance of the petitioner in this case is that the petitioner has filed a complaint on 18.08.2022 under Annexure-1 before the I.I.C., Jajpur Road Police Station (opposite party no.3) for registration though the same reveals cognizable offences. As no action has been taken by the said opposite party, the petitioner has filed a grievance petition before the Superintendent of Police, Jajpur on 26.08.2022 under Annexrue-2 Series. However, till date the F.I.R. has not been registered. In such background, he prays that necessary
// 2 // direction be given to the opposite party no.3 to take a decision on the above noted complaint within a specific time period.
4.
Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the I.I.C. Jajpur Road Police Station to take a decision on the complaint under Annexure-1 in accordance with law, keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others reported in AIR 2014 SC 187 within a period of four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not been disposed of.
