This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement. 2.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the grievance of the petitioner in this case is that the petitioner has filed a written report on 07.10.2022 under Annexure-1 Series before the I.I.C., Choudwar Police Station (opposite party no.3) for registration though the same reveals cognizable offences. As no action has been taken by the said opposite party, the petitioner has filed a grievance petition before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack on 06.10.2022 under Annexrue-1 Series. However, till date the F.I.R. has not been registered. In such background, he prays

// 2 // that necessary direction be given to the opposite party no.3 to take a decision on the above noted written report within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the I.I.C. Choudwar Police Station to take a decision on the written report under Annexure-1 Series in accordance with law, keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others reported in AIR 2014 SC 187 within a period of four weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not been disposed of. 5.

The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy of this order on proper application.
