Heard Mr.J.Behera, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.K.Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel.

According to Mr.Behera, learned counsel for the petitioner, though on account of acquisition of land for creating a security zone around the temple of Shri Jagannath Jew Bije, Puri his land has been acquired, however, he has neither been compensated nor extended the Rehabilitation and Resettlement benefits. He further submits that though for redressal of his grievances, the petitioner has approached the Collector and District Magistrate, Puri (opposite party No.2) by sending a grievance petition under Annexure-6 on 4.8.2022 through Registered Post, however, till date, no decision has been taken on the same. In such background,
he prays that a direction be issued to opp. party No.2 to take a decision on the said grievance petition within a specific time period. 3.
Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Collector and District Magistrate, Puri (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the above noted grievance petition under Annexure-6, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order along with a copy of the petition under Annexure-6 and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 5.
