Heard Mr.L.Pradhan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S.S.Pradhan, learned Additional Government Advocate. 2.

According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner is a land less person and though on 27.10.2021, he applied for settlement of a piece of government land in his favour before the Tahasildar, Mahakalapara (opposite party No.3) under Annexure-2, till date nothing has been done in the matter. His further submission is that against such inaction, though he has approached the Collector, Kendrapra on 16.03.2022 under Annexure-3, the same has not yielded any result.

In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the Tahasildar, Mahakalapara (opposite party No.3) to take a decision on such application for settlement of government land in his favour under Annexure-2 within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the opposite party No.3 to take a decision on the above noted application dated 27.10.2021 under Annexure-2, in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.

With the above observations and direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
