Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing for the Vigilance. 3.

The petitioner is an accused in G.R (Vigilance) Case No. 18 of 2021 in the learned Special Judge (Vigilance), Bhawanipatna corresponding to Jeypore Vigilance P.S. Case No. 22 of 2021 for the alleged commission of offence under Section 7 of the P.C. Act. 4.

The allegation against the petitioner is that he was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 6,000/- from the informant in order to grant bonus incentive to him. The petitioner was released on interim bail for a period of six weeks by order dated 08.12.2021 on the ground of illness of his wife. As per surrender certificate filed by the petitioner in Court today, the petitioner appears to have surrendered on 21.01.2022 upon completion of the stipulated period.

Having regard to the submissions, the materials on record and the fact that the investigation into the case appears to have progressed substantially, I am inclined to allow the prayer for regular bail. Let the petitioner be released on bail on such terms and conditions as the court in seisin over the matter may deem fit and proper to impose including the condition that he shall make himself available as and when required by the IO and shall cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

As the restrictions due to resurgence of COVID-19 situation are continuing, learned counsel for the parties may utilize a printout of the order available in the High Court's website, at par with certified copy, subject to attestation by the concerned advocate, in the manner prescribed vide Court's Notice No.4587, dated 25th March, 2020, modified by Notice No.4798, dated 15th April, 2021, and Court's Office Order circulated vide Memo Nos. 514 and 515 dated 7th January, 2022.
