Heard learned counsel for the appellant, learned counsel for the State This is an appeal under section 14-A of S.C. & S.T. (PoA) Act, 1989 in connection with Special G.R. Case No.01 of 2020 arising out of Khallikote P.S. Case No.04 of 2020 pending in the Court of learned Addl. Sessions Judge -cum- Special Judge, Khallikote for offences punishable under sections 376-D, 323 and 506 of the
// 2 // Indian Penal Code read with section 25(1-B)(a) of the Arms Act and sections 3(1)(r)(s)(w)(i)/3(2)(va) of the S.C. & S.T. (PoA) Act.
The appellant moved an application for bail before the Court of learned Addl. Sessions Judge -cum- Special Judge, Khallikote which was rejected on 30.09.2021. It is a case of gang rape. Taking into account the nature and gravity of accusation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. The prayer for bail stands rejected. However, the learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial.
The CRLA stands disposed of.
