Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate for the State. 2.
The petitioner, in this CRLMP, challenges the inaction of the police neither register the F.I.R. dated 13.10.2022 under Annexure-1 lodged by the petitioner for commission of cognizable offence by the accused nor has the matter been investigated by the police to recover the articles within a specific time.

The petitioner has approached the I.I.C., Mancheswar Police Station (opposite party no.3) with a complaint ventilating his ordeal regarding some incident while he was travelling in his car. Though the petitioner has approached
// 2 // the IIC, Mancheswar Police Station by filing a complaint, however, the same has not yet been registered. Against such inaction, the petitioner has approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar (opposite party no.2) for such inaction by filing a grievance petition dated 19.10.20222 under Annexure-2, no action has been taken on the same till date. In such background, he prays that necessary direction be issued to the opposite party no.2 to take a decision on the said grievance petition within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar (opposite party no.2) to take a decision on the grievance petition dated 19.10.2022 under Annexure-2 in accordance with law keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others1 within a period of seven days from the date of production of certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not already been disposed of. The petitioner is directed to supply copies of the complaint under Annexure1 as well as grievance petition under Annexure-2 to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar while presenting a certified copy of this order.
