This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

The writ petition has been registered before this Court on 17th December, 2021, after the original application was transferred from the learned Odisha Administrative Tribunal, Cuttack Bench, Cuttack upon its abolition.

On perusal of the available order sheets of the learned Tribunal, it is indicated that the matter was listed on 19.07.2016. Learned Tribunal noted absence of the learned counsel for the petitioner and adjourned the matter to 3rd week of August, 2016, further directing in case of non-appearance, the O.A. will be disposed of for non-appearance. When the matter was listed next on 16.08.2016, lawyers had abstained from court work. The matter was never taken up/pursued thereafter.

None appears for the petitioner, when the matter is called. 5.

The O.A. was filed by the petitioner who was then working as a Constable in Banth Police Station, At/P.O.-Banth, Dist.- Bhadrak, challenging the selection process for promotion to Asst. Sub-Inspector particularly the written test held on 24.11.2013.

Learned ASC submits that considering the nature of

// 2 // grievances i.e. challenge to a departmental promotion process of the year 2013, nothing would survive for adjudication at present.

Taking note of the past non-appearance of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition/O.A. is dismissed for non-prosecution.
