1. This matter is taken up through hybrid arrangement.

2. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

3. According to learned counsel for the Petitioner, the grievance of the Petitioner in this case pertains to nonregistration of his F.I.R.

dated 12.10.2022 under Annexure-1 by the Opposite Party No.3/ I.I.C., Tangarpalli Police Station, Tangarpalli, DistrictSundargrh. In course of argument, he submits that liberty may be granted to the Petitioner to approach the Opposite Party No.2/ Superintendent of Police, Rourkela and further prays that the said Opposite Party be directed to take a decision on such motion within a stipulated time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court grants liberty to the Petitioner to approach the Opposite Party No.2/ Superintendent of Police, Rourkela by filing a grievance petition along with a certified copy of this order in person or through Speed Post/Registered Post within a period of two weeks. In the event such grievance petition is filed before Opposite Party No.2/ Superintendent of Police, Rourkela, the said Opposite Party is directed to take a decision on the same in accordance with law keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others1 within a period of four weeks from the date of receiving of such grievance petition and communicate the results of such exercise to the Petitioner.

5. The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

6. Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
