This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

RJ The writ petition has been registered before this Court on 12th August, 2021, after the original application was transferred from the learned State Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, Bhubaneswar upon its abolition.

On perusal of the available order sheets of the learned Tribunal, it is indicated that the matter was never taken up after 18.02.2019.

The petitioner/applicant had filed the original application before the learned Tribunal in the year 2013, when the applicant was aged about 65 years. The applicant has retired as Inspector of Police, Special Branch, Odisha, Cuttack and the challenge was to the rejection of the appeal by the Government in the Home Department by order No. 5692 dated 13.02.2013 (Annexure-13), rejecting the prayer of the petitioner to grant him retrospective promotion to the rank of Inspector of Police w.e.f. the year 1990.

// 2 // Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he has no up-to-date instruction from the petitioner to pursue the litigation for the present.

Considering the above, the writ petition is disposed of as not pressed granting liberty to the petitioner to revive the same within sixty days for any surviving cause of action.
