This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that due to long pendency, the matter has been rendered infructuous. On 10.03.2022 after considering the matter in some detail, the following order was passed:

"None appears for the petitioner when the matter is called.

The writ petition has been renumbered and registered before this Court on 03.12.2021 after being transferred, upon abolition of Orissa Administrative Tribunal, Cuttack.

On perusal of the available order-sheet of the learned Tribunal, it is found that the matter was never taken up after 22.10.2013.

The original application was filed in the year 2013, challenging the advertisement dated 26.06.2013 issued by the Chief District Medical Officer, Koraput for recruitment to the post of Multipurpose Health Worker (Female), particularly with regard to the age limit as indicated in the advertisement.

It is submitted by the learned Additional Government Advocate that the fixing of age limit for a particular recruitment is matter of policy, more so the appointment was to be made on the contractual basis.

// 2 // It is further submitted that nothing would survive considering that the selection process was long over and the matter is pending for about nine years thereafter. To grant another opportunity to the petitioner, list this matter on 12.04.2022."

Having heard the learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition is disposed of as not pressed.
