Heard Mr. Das, learned counsel for the Petitioners and Mr. Dash, learned AGA.

According to Mr. Das, the Petitioners are aggrieved by non-extension of resettlement and rehabilitation benefits to them though their lands have been acquired for the purpose of construction of Lower Suktel Project in the district of Bolangir. He submits that as per the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy of Government, the Petitioners should have been allotted with lands for the purpose of their rehabilitation. Though highlighting their grievances the Petitioners have filed a representation under Annexure-5 before Opposite Party No.5Project Director, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Lower Suktel Irrigation Project, Bolangir and though the same has been acknowledged by his Office, however, till date no decision has been taken on the above noted representation. Hence, he prays for necessary direction to said Opposite Party to dispose of their above noted representation within a specified time. 4.

Considering the submissions made and without

// 2 // expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs Opposite Party No.5 to take a decision on the above noted representation under Annexure-5 in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order, if the same has not yet been disposed of and communicate the result of such exercise to the Petitioner No.1, who in turn, is directed to share such decision to other Petitioners.

With the direction as aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of.

Issue urgent certified copy of the order on proper application.
