1. The matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

2. The petitioner challenges the inaction of the opposite parties in considering his case for promotion under S.C. category for the post of Senior Jail Superintendent (Class-I), despite of him being placed at Sl. No.3 in the final gradation list of Superintendent of District Jail (Group B) published by the Home Department vide letter dated 25.05.2012.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not have any instructions from his client. Since the issue is very old and the O.A. was filed in the year, 2012, which has been transferred to this Court, the cause of action seems to have been extinguished by efflux of time.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of as infructuous.

5. The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the Court, if any cause of action survives.
