This matter is taken up through Hybrid Arrangement (Virtual/Physical Mode).

Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner.

The present writ petition has been filed by the Petitioner seeking a direction to the Opposite Parties No.2 and 3 to dispose of the surcharge proceeding bearing No.SP13/2013 within the stipulated period of time. 4.

It is submitted that the surcharge proceeding, which was initiated pursuant to summon issued in the year 2013, is pending against the Petitioner and in the meantime, the Petitioner has retired from service and he is not getting his retiral benefit and pensionary dues because of the pendency of the surcharge proceeding.

Considering unusual delay of the surcharge proceeding, this Court directs the Opposite Party No.2 to expedite the surcharge proceeding bearing No.SP13/2013 and shall make every endeavour to dispose of the same within a period of two months from the date of production of the certified copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
