1. The matter is taken up through hybrid mode. Order No.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was promoted from the post of Village Agriculture Worker to the rank of Agriculture Overseer on adhoc basis for one year i.e. till 29.06.2011. The promotion was made on the basis of seniority in the cadre from the year, 1983. The said has now been set aside. The petitioner prays to re-fix the VAW seniority from 1983 and to provide all the consequential benefits including the promotion to him. Further, the petitioner assails the order dated 12.08.2011 passed by the Director of Agriculture and Food Production, Orissa on the fact that the said order is erroneous and contrary to law.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that by efflux of time, the cause of action seems to have lost its significance.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous.

5. The petitioner is at liberty to approach the Court afresh, if any cause of action is surviving.
