This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

The petitioner is in custody since 16.10.2022 in connection with Special Task Force, Crime Branch Case No. 22 of 2022 corresponding to C.T. Case No. 2701 of 2022 pending in the Court of learned S.D.J.M., Jharsuguda for the alleged commission of the offence under Sections-379/411/413/120-B of the I.P.C. r/w. Section.51 of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. 4.
It is alleged that the petitioner was in possession of three leopard skins, which he purchased from the co-accused persons of this case.

Considering the fact that the leopard skin in question have been seized and the investigation appears to have progressed substantially, this Court finds no reason to detain the petitioner in custody. Let the petitioner be released on bail on such terms and conditions as the Court in seisin over the matter may deem fit and proper to impose.

Accordingly, the BLAPL is disposed of.
