This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

The petitioner is in custody since 06.07.2022 being remanded in connection with B.N.Pur P.S. Case No. 194 of 2022 corresponding to G.R. Case No. 1292 of 2022 pending in the Court of learned S.D.J.M., Berhampur for the alleged commission of the offence under Sections-417/419/420/294/506/406 of the I.P.C. 4.

It is alleged that he took a sum of Rs.2 Lakhs from the informant on the pretext of arranging a job for him in the State Secretariat. Since, the petitioner did not honour his commitment, the case was instituted.

Having regard to the fact that the investigation has been completed in the meantime, I find no reason to detain the petitioner in custody. Let the petitioner be released on bail on such terms and conditions as the Court in seisin over the matter may deem fit and proper to impose, including the conditions that he shall deposit a sum of Rs.2 Lakhs in the form of short term deposit in any

Nationalized Bank being pledged to the Court. Such deposit shall be without prejudice to the rival contentions. 6.

Accordingly, the BLAPL is disposed of.
