Petitioner has filed a petition vide Annexure-1 before the Asst. Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Cuttackopposite party no.2 for correction of the Record of Rights under Section 12 of the Orissa Survey and Settlement Act, 1958 read with Sub-Rule (3) of Rule 26 of the Orissa Survey and Settlement Rules, 1962.

It is alleged that the said petition has not been registered by the Asst. Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Cuttack, opposite party No.2.

Regard being had to the facts and submissions and nature of prayer, the writ petition is disposed of directing the Asst. Settlement Officer, Major Settlement, Cuttack-opposite party No.2 to register the petition filed by the Petitioner vide Annexure-1 and consider the same on merit and in accordance with law, after giving opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned. The entire proceeding shall be completed within a reasonable time.
