This matter is taken up through Video Conferencing Mode. 2.

Heard Mr. N. Lenka, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. A.R. Dash, learned Additional Government Advocate. 3.

According to Mr. Lenka, the petitioner is aggrieved by inaction of the authorities in extending him the benefits under Orissa Re-Settlement and Rehabilitation Policy, 2006 though he is a land looser vis-à-vis Kaniha Open Cast Project of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. He further submits that though highlighting all his grievances, the petitioner has submitted a representation on 11.10.2021 before the General Manager, Kaniha Area, MCL (opposite party no.7) under Annexure-6, however, till date no decision has been taken on the same. In such background, he prays that a direction be given to the said opposite party to take a decision on the said representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of this case, this Court

// 2 // directs the General Manager, Kaniha Area, MCL (opposite party no.7) under Annexure-6 to take a decision on the above noted representation under Annexure-6 in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.
