Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State.

The petitioner is in custody since 23.05.2022 in connection with Daitari P.S. Case No. 43 of 2022 corresponding to S.T. Case No. 22/70 of 2022 pending in the Court of learned C.J.M.-Cum-A.S.J., Keonjhar for the alleged commission of offence under Section 376(1) of IPC.

Having regard to the nature of accusations and in particular the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 of Cr.P.C., I am not inclined to allow the prayer for bail, which is therefore rejected. However, it is open to the petitioner to renew his prayer after
examination of the victim during trial.

The BLAPL is accordingly rejected.
