This matter is taken up through video conferencing mode. 2.

Heard Mr. B.P. Satapathy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S.K. Samal, learned Additional Government Advocate.

According to Mr. Satapathy, the petitioner is aggrieved by non-issuance of Arms License in his favour though he has made necessary application in the appropriate form under Annexure-1. As a result his endeavour to get an engagement as Security Guard has been thwarted. He further submits that though highlighting all his grievances, the petitioner has approached the Collector, Balasore (opposite party No.2) on 30.07.2021 by filing a representation under Annexure-2 sent through registered post on the same day however, till date no decision has been taken on the same. Accordingly, he prays that that a direction be issued to the Collector, Balasore (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Collector, Balasore (opposite party No.2) to take a decision on the above noted representation of the petitioner under Annexure-2 in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not been disposed of and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner. 5.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 6.

Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application.
