1. This matter taken up through hybrid arrangement.

2. Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State.

3. According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the grievance of the petitioner in this case pertains to nonregistration of his complaint dated 22.10.2022 under Annexure-1 as F.I.R. by I.I.C., Chauliaganja P.S.,Cuttack (opposite party no.4) though the same reveals cognizable offences. He further submits that though the petitioner has approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police (opposite party no.3) for such inaction by filing a grievance petition dated 15.11.2022 under Annexure-2 Series, no action has been taken on the same till date. // 2 // such background, he prays that necessary direction be issued to the opposite party no.3 to take a decision on the said grievance petition within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack (opposite party no.3) to take a decision on the grievance petition dated 15.11.2022 under Annexure-2 Series in accordance with law keeping in the mind the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P. & Others1 within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order, if in the meantime, the same has not already been disposed of. The petitioner is directed to supply copies of the complaint under Annexure-1 as well as grievance petition under Annexure-2 series to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack while presenting a certified copy of this order. Opposite party No.4 is directed to communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner without fail.

5. Accordingly, the CRLMP is disposed of.

6. Issue urgent certified copy of this order on proper application.
