Jaygoun Bibi v. State Of Odisha
IN THE HIGH COURT OF ORISSA AT CUTTACK
BLAPL No. 11177 of 2021 Jayagoun Bibi ....
Petitioner Mr. P.K. Khatei, Advocate - Versus - State of Odisha ....
Opposite Party Mr. S.K. Mishra, Addl. Standing Counsel
CORAM:
JUSTICE SASHIKANTA MISHRA
ORDER
31.03.2022 Order No.
1.
This matter is taken up through hybrid mode.
4.
2.
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State.
3.
Though it is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that nothing was seized from the possession of the petitioner, yet from bare perusal of the FIR, it is evident that the petitioner was apprehended in her own house while she was holding a plastic gunny bag, which was found to contain 584 grams of brown sugar. 4.
Having regard to the above and the fact that the seized contraband is more than commercial quantity, I am not inclined to allow the prayer for bail, which is therefore, rejected. 5.
BLAPL is accordingly rejected.
