Heard Mr. M.K. Mahapatro, learned counsel for the Petitioners and Mr. H.M.Dhal, learned Additional Government Advocate.

According to Mr. Mahapatro, the petitioners are aggrieved by the non-disposal of their application filed under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 styled as L.A. Misc. Case No.36 of 2016 arising out of L.A.C. No.08 of 2011 pending before the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Upper Indravati Irrigation project, Kalahandi (opposite party No.3). In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the opposite party No.3 to dispose of the said case expeditiously.

Considering the submission made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court disposes of the Writ Petition directing the opposite party No.3 to dispose of the L.A. Misc. Case No.36 of 2016 arising out of L.A. Case No.08 of 2011 in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioners. It is further directed that in case the application of the petitioners under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 is allowed, and if
there is no other legal impediment, the compensation amount be disbursed in favour of the petitioners within a period of two months thereafter.
