Heard Mr. M. Pattanayak, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr. B.K. Padhi, learned Central Government Counsel, Mr. D.K. Mohanty, learned Additional Standing Counsel & Ms. P. Naidu, learned counsel for opposite party No.5.

According to Mr. Pattanayak, though pursuant to the order dated 05.12.2016 passed in W.P.(C) No.21035 of 2014 granting liberty to the petitioners therein to approach the Commissioner of Endowments, Odisha, the petitioners of that writ petition which includes the present petitioner, who was petitioner No.1 there, approached the Commissioner of
// 2 // Endowments, Odisha (opposite party No.5) on 14.01.2017 by filing an application under Annexure-3 through registered post however, till date the Commissioner of Endowments, Odisha has not done anything in the matter. In such background, he prays that that a direction be issued to the opposite party No.5 to take a decision on the above noted application within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Commissioner of Endowments, Odisha (opposite party No.5) to take a decision on the above noted application of the petitioner under Annexure-3 in accordance with law within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the parties.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. 6.
Urgent certified copy of this order be granted on proper application in course of the day.
