(Oral) The present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been preferred by the petitioners seeking issuance of directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondent Nos.4 to 12. 2.

It is, inter alia, contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners apprehending danger to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondent Nos.4 to 12 had moved a representation to the Police authorities dated 01.01.2024 (Annexure P-4), but till date no action thereon has been taken. Hence the petition. He submits that for the purpose of this petition, the petitioners will be satisfied if appropriate directions are given to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to consider and dispose of the representation dated 01.01.2024 (Annexure P-4) in accordance with law in an expeditious manner.

After hearing the respective submissions and considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 01.01.2024 (Annexure P4) in accordance with law in an expeditious manner. The decision so taken be intimated to the petitioners as well.
