* * * * S.J. VAZIFDAR, A.C.J. (ORAL) This is a petition for the appointment of an arbitrator. 2.

The petitioner entered into an agreement of license for running a chemist shop. The disputes and differences have arisen between the parties, inter alia, on account of the respondents having allegedly wrongly curtailed the period of operation of the shop. The petitioner has invoked the arbitration clause. The disputes are to be referred to the Director of the 1st respondent. The Director has been impleaded in this petition as respondent No. 2. It is not necessary to implead the Director. However, a written statement has also been filed on the merits of the matter on behalf of the Director.

In these circumstances, it would be appropriate if any other arbitrator is appointed.

The petition is disposed of by appointing Mr. Sanjeev Jindal, a retired Additional District and Sessions Judge, Haryana, as the sole arbitrator. 5.

The petitioner has no objection if the venue of the arbitration is within the campus of the 1st respondent itself as this would avoid any unnecessary expenditure.

In the event of that being not possible, the venue shall be at the Chandigarh Arbitration Centre.
