Mr. Karamjeet Singh, Advocate, for the respondent. **** S.J.VAZIFDAR, CHIEF JUSTICE (ORAL) This is a petition under section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for the appointment of a sole arbitrator to adjudicate upon the disputes and differences between the parties. The parties carry on business as partners in the firm named & style of M/s Chand Industries on the terms and conditions contained in an instrument of partnership dated 01.12.2003. Clause 13 whereof contains an arbitration agreement. The disputes and differences having arisen between the parties, the petitioner invoked the arbitration clause by letter dated 21.12.2016. There is no response to the letter. In any event there is no consent to the appointment of the arbitrator.

In these circumstances, the petition is disposed of by appointing Mr. A.S.Narula, former Additional District & Sessions Judge, Punjab, as the sole arbitrator to adjudicate upon the disputes and differences between the parties. The fees shall be as per the Chandigarh Arbitration Centre (CAC) (Administrative Cost and Arbitrator's Fees) Rules, 2014.
