* * * * S.J. VAZIFDAR, C.J. (ORAL) This is a petition under Section 11 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for the appointment of an arbitrator. 2.

The parties agree that the disputes and differences are to be referred to arbitration.

The petition is disposed of by appointing Shri B.M. Bedi, former District and Sessions Judge, Haryana, as the sole arbitrator. The fees shall be as per the Chandigarh Arbitration Centre (CAC) (Administrative Cost and Arbitrators' Fees) Rules, 2014. The parties have agreed that the venue shall be the Chandigarh Arbitration Centre.

Considering the amount involved, the parties may try and settle the matter through mediation. For this purpose, the parties shall attend the High Court Mediation Centre in the first instance on 05.03.2018 at 3.00 PM and thereafter as directed by the Mediator. The parties shall not approach the arbitrator upto and including 30.04.2018 to enable the settlement through mediation. In the event of the matter being settled, the reference to arbitration shall stand revoked.
