Through the instant petition, prayer is made for issuance of mandamus upon the appropriate authority concerned to ensure the life and liberty, and personal safety, and protection qua the petitioner, and his family members.

Upon notice, reply has been filed, wherethrough, it has been informed to this Court that as on date, there is no threat perception to the petitioner. The averments so made in the reply, have been refuted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, who submits, that there are number of instances, which are required to be considered by the authority concerned at the time of evaluation of threat perception, which have not been taken into consideration.

At this stage, without going into the merits of the case, this Court deems it apt to pass directions upon the Additional Director General DALBIR SINGH TIWANA 2025.02.28 14:16 I attest the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment Chandigarh
CWP- 128-2024 (O&M) -2of Police (Security), Punjab to consider the claim of the petitioner in view of the Punjab State Security Policy, 2013, and SOP issued by the Director General of Police, Punjab, and thereupon, pass a speaking order. It goes without saying that before executing above exercise, the petitioner shall be given a chance of audience.
