Petitioners filed CWP 23572/2015 seeking relief of restoration of two/one special increments,by refixation of pay,granted to the petitioners at Ranjit Sagar Dam Project on the basis of the judgment of the Apex Court in Civil Appeal No.6540/2014 titled State of Punjab and others v Tarlok Chand and others, decided on 16.7.2014. The said petition was disposed of by this Court vide order dated 4.11.2015 directing respondent herein to decide the representation made by the petitioners in this regard within a period of 3 months from the receipt of copy of the order. It was further directed that the amounts,if due, be paid within a period of two months thereafter. Alleging disobedience of order dated 4.11.2015 instant contempt petition has been filed.
Upon notice, reply by way of affidavit dated 25.1.2017 of Pushpinder Paul Garg,Chief Engineer(Vigilance),Irrigation,Punjab has been filed. In para 3 of the said affidavit it is stated that in compliance of the order passed by this Court, representation of the petitioners was decided whereby their claim has been accepted and as a sequel thereto a sum of Rs.16,17,143/- has been deposited in the accounts of petitioners on 11.1.2017 by the District Treasury Officer,Patiala vide letter dated 12.1.2017(R-1/T).
In view of the averments made in para 3 of the said affidavit, learned counsel for the petitioners concedes that the instant contempt petition has become infructuous.
Dismissed as infructuous.
