As per office report, on 20.11.2014, this Court had passed the following order in Civil Revision No. 4019 of 1991:- "As per communication received from the office of Advocate General, Punjab, the case was decided on 10.08.1998 but the office does not have any record of the case.

The paper-book of the case has been burnt in the fire incident. The case pertains to Jalandhar District. Let efforts be made to reconstruct the file by DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2016.04.08 18:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Civil Revision No. 4019 of 1991 seeking information from the District Judge, Jalandhar. In case the effort is not successful, the case be re-listed." Learned State counsel could not produce any document to reconstruct the file. More so, as per report received from District & Sessions Judge, Jalandhar vide No. 961G/JRK dated 4.4.2016, no case was pending before the Court of Senior Sub Judge, Jalandhar on 27.9.1991 nor was decided on 10.8.1998. More so, as per report of the concerned Clerk/Record Keeper, no case titled as "Darshan Singh v. State of Punjab" was consigned to the record room. In view of above, present petition is disposed of as the same has already been decided. However, it is made clear that the State shall be at liberty to move appropriate application for revival of the same if the State could lay its hands to contrary, at any point of time.
